We’ve had a few busy, nice days yesterday and today. For Charlotte’s first Thanksgiving we went to my parents’ house for lots of yummy food. Charlotte really liked the butternut squash soup, brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. She loved the cranberry sauce. And she ate her first meat, a few bites of turkey.
I spent awhile today trying to take a video of Charlotte walking, but I didn’t succeed. I just got a lot of videos like this of her standing up and tearing apart the Pottery Barn catalog. She takes three or four steps at a time and then sits back down. She walks away from furniture, or toward Brian or I, and then seems to realize she’s walking and sits down again.
Charlotte is pointing at everything lately, which is mostly helpful but sometimes not. It’s nice that she can tell us when she wants her water or wants more of something by pointing, but sometimes we can’t figure out what she’s pointing at, or she points at something she can’t have and then gets mad she can’t have it.
Charlotte has this new hand gesture she does after she throws something on the floor. She also uses it when Brian leaves in the morning. It sometimes means “Where did it go?” or more generally, “What’s going on here?”
Charlotte was pretty excited to get her hands on the computer.
Charlotte was clearly not happy with the way we had organized the dish towels.
We had a Halloween party on Saturday with a bunch of other babies and parents. It was a lot of fun. Charlotte dressed up as a ladybug.
